Modeling EnteroAggregative Escherichia coli (EAEC) using COPASI and Cell Designer
The following is a diagram illustrating mucosal immune responses to Escherichia coli, including interacting tissue and cell phenotype compartments. Red ovals indicate cell compartments associated with inflammation and blue ovals indicate those associated with homeostasis and the regulatory response. Light green ovals are those cell compartments that may play a role in both pathways. Pink circles indicate removal of specific cell phenotypes from the system.
The model is available for download in CellDesigner xml format (right click the link or ctrl+left click for Mac machines to save the model source file). We have tested that the model is compatible with Cell Designer 4.1.
This model has been lastly updated on Jan 12th, 2012. This has been updated since the previous model in that we have added TNF-a secretion from epithelial cells as well as precursors to all cytokines allowing the production of such species.
