Pinyi Lu is a PhD student in the NIMML, studying Genomics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology and pursuing a simultaneous degree in Computer Science. He holds an M.S. in Pharmaco-bioinformatics and a B.S. in Life Science and Technique.
Pinyi has been involved in molecular modeling and virtual screening for anti-inflammatory drug discovery that targets the lanthionine synthetase component C-like protein 2 (LANCL2) as well as experimental validation for the proposed methods. In addition, he is heavily investigating on computational modeling, simulation and analysis of dynamic behavior of the pathways that control macrophage phenotype polarization. So far, he has published 10 papers. He proposes to continue working on the discovery of novel anti-inflammatory drugs as well as development of computational modeling tools.
